To celebrate this festival, to enrich students’ living experiences of National Holiday and to have a good knowledge of Chinese traditional culture, we invited international undergraduate students in grade 2017, grade 2018 and grade 2019. By learning how to make moon cakes by themselves, they all said they harvested fun and happiness.

Leading by Wei Xuan, a Chinese student came from class 4 grade 2019 of Civil Engineering major, all participants joined in the procedure of making snowing moon and cream cakes. At the event site, everyone gathered around the big table, weighing and reclaiming materials, kneading the skin and pressing molds according to the process. It didn’t take long for the table to be filled with snowy moon cakes with white, sweet and delicate patterns.

The event allowed everyone to experience the joy of hand make food, and at the same time, deepened their understanding of the meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The students made moon cakes by themselves and had close contact with Chinese culture. They welcomed the Mid-Autumn Festival with a sweet fragrance and experienced the unique charm of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
